Salt Lake's historic train stationThis is the historic Union Pacific building that resides on the extreme west side of downtown Salt Lake City, UT. We shot this picture about 2 hours before sunset from the west steps of the Energy Solutions Arena where the NBA's Utah Jazz play. Few things in American history are as iconic as the railroad. It's certainly one of the things that made this country great and this building is rich with history both inside and out.
Built in 1908, it has stood as a reminder of the glory days of railroad travel. The main lobby of this building is a sight to behold with it's ceiling murals painted by San Francisco artists, Harry Hopp and John McQuarrie, that depict important moments of Utah history.
